2006  Memorial Day Run, Sat & Sun, May 27, 28th.

 

1.  Poker Run Anchorage, Sat, May 27.  Muster in the Whaler parking lot, 10:30A-10:59A.  
     Depart 11:00A.  Run is open to all, & it will  end at  LZ Easy, mi 114.5, Parks Hwy (Cache Creek).

2.  There will be an all weekend party at the LZ.  Everyone is welcome.  
     Tent camping, as well as a few RV spots, & Hotel rooms may be available in the local area.

 

3.  Sun, May 28th.  We will be leaving the LZ at approx 12:30P & head to mi 134,
    Mary's McKinley View Lodge.  We will muster at Mary's between 13:00P & 13:29P. 
    We will depart in formation, "Rolling Thunder", at 1:30p & arrive at the Byers Lake 
    State Veterans Memorial,  mi 147, at approx., 1:50P.  The Services will start at 2P.

4.  After the Services plan on stopping at LZ Easy, mi 114.5, for a BBQ put on by Dave &
     Ginger & a heck of a good party.

 

Memorial Day Mon, May 29th.

 

1.  We will Muster at 11th & I in Anchorage, between 9:30A-9:54A.  We will depart at
    approx 9:55A, in a "Rolling Thunder" formation, arriving at the Anchorage Veterans
    Memorial at approx 10A.  Many of us try & stop in & visit with the residents of the
    Pioneer Home, they love the time we spend so if you can get there early it will be time
    well spent.

 

2.  There will NOT be a formal Ceremony at the National Veterans Cemetery on Ft Rich. 
      (Construction, etc.)

 

3.   Living" Wall of Honor" in Wasilla.  Start time 11A

 

 June 14th, Flag Day.  TBA

July 4th Parade.  TBA.  
The National Veteran Wheelchair games are also being held the week of July 3--8th. 

July ??, (late July)  11th Air Force Memorial Service, & 
"Rolling Thunder", at Merrill Field.  TBA.

 Sept ??  POW/MIA Day Services & "Rolling Thunder",  Probably Fri closest to Sept. 15, at Elmendorf AFB?  TBA.

 Nov 11, Veterans Day.  11:00A,  National Guard Armory, Ft Rich.
